The dress is named after a true hero and icon, Lady Penrose better known as Lee Miller (1907-1977), she started her career as one of the most sought after models in New York, photographed by the leading photographers of her time, before becoming an art photographer and photojournalist herself. Starting in Paris in the 20s as a self acclaimed student of Man Ray, she became not only his model, muse and lover, but also his collaborator. During the world war II she became the official wartime photojournalist for Vogue, witnessing and portraying the crimes of war. One of the curiosities of her life was that together with her photojournalist partner David E. Schermann they were the first to enter Hitler's secret apartment, where she took a bath and slept in his bed. „with its shower hose looped in the center behind her head and the dust of Dachau on her boots deliberately dirtying Hitler's bathroom“ Schermann took one of the most iconic images from the Miller–Scherman partnership which occurred on April 30, 1945. There is so much more to know about her and her twist in life, she even became a gourmet cook. If you want to find out more check the links below.
